Swedish Meatballs (Köttbullar)

A great recipe, the meatballs are different, the sauce is better than the meatballs. I'd say definitely try it.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams of ground beef, 1 grated onion, 4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs, 1 egg, 1 clove of garlic (optional), 1.5 teaspoons of salt, 1 teaspoon of ground red pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon of cumin, 5-6 sprigs of finely chopped parsley

  • For the sauce: 1 tablespoon of butter, 1.5 tablespoons of flour, 2 glasses of broth, otherwise it will be in normal water, 100 ml of cream, 1 teaspoon of mustard, 1 teaspoon of red ground pepper, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 tea. spoon of salt Finely chopped parsley

Instructions

1

Mix all the meatball ingredients well in a bowl. Knead for a while so that it is well missed.

2

Let's cut walnut-sized pieces from the meatball mortar we prepared and roll them. Let it rest for half an hour in the refrigerator.

3

Let's put 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in the pan and heat it up and fry our meatballs well. You can take the meatballs on a plate and prepare the sauce in the same pan. I started with a clean pan.

4

Let's add the butter to the pan, add the flour when it melts and fry it until it smells. Add the water and mix it. (if there is broth, choose it) when it boils, let's add the cream, mustard and spices and mix.

5

Let's put the meatballs in the sauce and cook for 20 minutes on low heat, covered. Sprinkle finely chopped parsley on top and serve.
